And there will only be 25 units made. This limited-production track-only mid-engined sports car is a single-seater powerful machine with central closed cockpit and jet aircraft-style canopy. With a heart and soul born to race, the 5.2 litre V10 engine that powers Solus GT is unique. This bespoke engine is a force of nature with a 5.2 litre V10 that revs beyond 10,000rmp. In short, this sports car was designed to maximize performance and give the feel of Formula 1. In keeping with its pure motorsport lineage, the engine is fixed directly to the monocoque – it’s a structural part of the chassis. This is an approach rarely seen in production cars, but in an extreme track racer it delivers vital strength and rigidity. This means 100% engagement between car and driver. Most notably, the captivating power of the Solus GT's wild engine is harnessed through a 7-speed sequential gearbox equipped with racing-style straight cut gears, complemented by a carbon fiber clutch featuring automated software for seamless control. Expect a balance of aggressive shifting and user-friendliness. The unique and focused blend of these elements culminates in impressive results, achieving a remarkable 0 to 60 mph in a targeted 2.5 seconds, and reaching a top speed of 200mph. This race-ready, Formula 1 inspired sports car, every McLaren Solus GT owner enjoys a personalized seat fitting.
